Dear Class 3,
We hope you’re all continuing to keep well at home.
We would love to hear from you so please do write to school or send us an email and tell us your news or art work: office@stgabrielsprimary.co.uk
I’m sure you’ve seen in the newsletter that on Monday 20th July, year 2 and year 3 only are invited into school for the day. Year 4 and year 5 will be in school on the Tuesday. You will be split into two groups and will spend half the day with us and half the day with another teacher. It would be simply amazing to see you all!
Here’s the links to home learning starting for week 11, starting Monday 6th July: https://classroom.thenational.academy/schedule-by-year/year-3
Maths: This week is all about multiplication and division using your known facts. You will learn how to work out your 6 and 8 times table to solve word problems.
Reading and writing: More about diaries. The first part of the week will be reading diaries and remembering what a diary is. The second part of the week will be writing your own diary.
Writing a daily diary during your time at home could be a really helpful thing to do. A diary can include pictures as well as a way to record memories.
Spanish: Learning how to describe someone’s appearance.
Art: Creating an Anamorphic Letter!. This is an optical illusion that you will love trying out!
Keep going, you’re all doing so well!
Stay safe and hopefully see you soon!
Class 3 Team! ( Miss Gilbert, Miss Chittenden,Miss Davidson, Miss Corrigan and Miss Aida)

Dear Class 3,
Hope you’re all keeping safe and well at home and not getting too hot in the heat!
You’re all doing a brilliant job at home and having a go at learning, we know it’s not an easy thing to do and we’re very proud of you.
Next week will be Week 10 of the Oak Academy, W/C 29th June.
https://classroom.thenational.academy/schedule-by-year/year-3
In Maths, it will be all about telling the time on an analogue clock. Perhaps you could start by drawing a daily time table of what you get up to in the day and add the times that you do these things.
In Literacy, it will be all about story writing. I’m adding a link the the Literacy Shed because there might be a short film clip you could watch to inspire you to write a story. https://www.literacyshed.com/home.html
There is also a Spanish lesson all about being able to name your family members and pets in Spanish!
Here is a link to Tate Kids in case you want to have a go at an art activity https://www.tate.org.uk/kids
Remember to keep having a go at reading books of your choice each day and if you would like to send us a letter or a picture to school, we would love to hear from you!
Keep safe and take care,
Miss Gilbert, Miss Chittenden, Ms Davidson, Miss Corrigan and Miss Aida!

Dear Class 3,
We hope everyone has had a productive week of learning, enjoyed the sun and relaxed to the storms!
Next week we will be following Week 9, week commencing Monday 22nd June at school and would like you to follow the same as much as possible.
Maths focus will be comparing capacities, and English focus will be newspaper writing. Perhaps you can write a newspaper article focuses on your b=very own experiences of covid-19.
Don’t forget about the amazing extra activities such as art, music and Spanish that the oak provide.
We will copy the link for you to access the learning at the bottom of the page.
At school this week Ms Davidson and Bubble 3 had lots of fun developing their knowledge of non-chronological reports. They used this as an opportunity to research and write about their favourite animals. They also used this to inspire some fantastic pieces of art. Throughout maths they explored the topic of weight and mass and enjoyed developing their understandings of this concept!
Next week will be a warm one, so work hard, get outside and enjoy the sunshine as much as possible and be sure to stay hydrated!
Keep up the great work!
The Class 3 Team.

She hopes everyone who is learning at home has enjoyed the Oak Academy resource and are having fun learning in this new way.

Dear Class 3,
We hope you’re all keeping safe and well at home and have been enjoying the sunshine over the half term.
Well done for all the amazing learning you’ve been having a go at whilst at home, you’re doing really well and should feel very proud.
You will know that from this week, some children will be returning to school. We know this may be hard if you’re still staying at home for a little bit longer. We’re sure you’re really be missing your friends and school life now!
To help you with your learning at home, we’re going to be using lessons from The Oak National Academy, which is a collection of high quality online lessons and online resources, backed by the government. So you’ll be able to access the same lessons we’re teaching at school whilst you’re at home. This will replacing the existing online learning we’ve been providing from Tuesday 2nd June.
New lessons are added each week.

As we’ve said before, please don’t feel the pressure to cover everything, try out the lessons and do what you can. You have the option of trying lessons from Year 2 if you would like.
There is also a specialist’s subject section with lots of support around different subjects, so please do feel free to try these instead or as well.
When you do get a chance to return to school, as well as the familiar faces, you’ll also get to meet our new teacher, Miss Davidson, who has just joined our Class 3 team.
Stay safe,
